Our management and executive team comprises technology finance experts as well as former entrepreneurs and angel investors. We’ve been in the tech space for a long time — long enough to have seen the ups and downs of several economic cycles. Meet Our Team

  • Michael joined Timia Capital in 2024.  He has extensive experience in both the lending and technology industries.  He was the first executive hire at Langhaus Financial, which the team grew to become Canada’s largest non-bank insurance lender.  Following Langhaus’ sale in 2022, Michael served as the CEO of a technology start-up and President of a technology services business.  He started his career in management consulting with Bain & Company.

    Michael holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

  • Natalie joined TIMIA Capital in March 2018 as Head of Due Diligence. Natalie digs deep into the companies we lend to ensure we have a holistic and up to date view of the status of the business. Prior to TIMIA, Natalie worked at Espresso Capital as a Due Diligence Lead and at Metropolitan Life as a Senior Investment Analyst.  At Metropolitan Life, Natalie was part of a team managing a $2.3 billion fixed income portfolio and participated in investing over $700 million in private and public debt financings.

    Natalie has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and is a CFA charter holder.

  • Tyson joined TIMIA Capital in March 2020. Tyson leads the origination team providing guidance on the qualification and analysis of prospective borrowers. He also nurtures relationships and deals through our extensive partner network. Previous to TIMIA, he held various roles within SaaS companies located in Vancouver. He has additional experience working alongside the accounting division at the Department of National Defence, CFB Comox.

    Tyson has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the University of Ottawa.

  • Justine joined TIMIA Capital in 2020 as Director of Finance. She leads all aspects of financial operations, including internal reporting, forecasting, capital planning, and portfolio analytics. Her experience includes working with public company financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and consolidated financials across multiple entities. She brings a strong understanding of both private and public market requirements to her role. Before joining TIMIA, Justine held finance and accounting roles in the tech and transportation sectors, where she developed deep experience in corporate reporting, budgeting, and financial systems.

    Justine has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Audit and Information Technology from Conestoga College and is currently pursuing her CPA designation.

  • Sikhelela, or Sikhe, joined TIMIA Capital in January 2023 as a Business Development Representative. Sikhe works with companies to determine if they qualify for a loan and leads them through the process. Before TIMIA, Sikhe held business development and administrative roles with prestigious legal firms Virgin Hickman and Borden Ladner Gervais, and served as an intern with Adept Solutions, a technology company based in Vancouver, BC. 

    He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Simon Fraser University and graduated from Falcon College with Cambridge IGCSE O Level and A Levels. Sikhe is a Canadian Securities Course (CSC®) candidate.

  • Jacqueline joined TIMIA Capital in 2025 as Head of Marketing. Jacqueline makes sure the right founders find TIMIA and understand why we’re the right funding partner for their growth. She leads the marketing strategy across content, campaigns, and partnerships that bring founders to our door. Jacqueline is also a freelance writer, educator, and startup founder. She’s spent her career at the intersection of brand, business, and storytelling, with experience across media, sports, and retail, working with companies ranging from Fortune 500s to early-stage startups.

    Jacqueline holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree from Western University.

  • Matthew joined TIMIA Capital in 2022 as Director of Business Development. He built relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutions while managing investor communications and capital-raising initiatives. Matthew continues to support TIMIA as a Consultant, maintaining close ties with the firm and its investor community.Matthew has broad experience in alternative investments, the exempt market, and capital markets. Matthew is CEO of CSE-listed NextGen Digital Platforms, oversees an exempt-market practice serving family offices in Canada, and is a partner in a Toronto-based real estate development firm.

    Matthew holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree from Western University and completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC®) in 2021.

  • Jack joined TIMIA Capital in 2026. As Director, Investments, he helps lead partnerships and drives business development across the tech ecosystem. Before joining TIMIA, he was an Associate on the investment team at Round13 Capital, supporting the deployment of growth capital to several software and tech-enabled services businesses. Jack brings a strong understanding of startup culture and a deep network of relationships across Canada’s innovation community.

    Jack started his career in data analytics and business development, working for the B2B SaaS company Statflo. He holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University.

  • Ken joined TIMIA in 2025 as Chief Credit Officer. He is an experienced professional with an extensive background in structured finance, credit analysis, and risk mitigation. He has over 25 years working in large financial service institutions, including TD Bank, Barclays Bank, and Sun Life. He has spent the last eight years helping to grow Langhaus Financial from a start-up to the largest independent lender in its asset class segment.

    Ken holds a BA from Mt. Allison University, a BCom from Dalhousie University, and an MBA from the Sobey School of Business.

  • Monique joined TIMIA Capital at the end of 2022 as President. She is a seasoned tech entrepreneur, angel investor, and advisor to technology startups, particularly in the fintech space. She founded and served as CEO of JUDI.AI, a technology company providing financial institutions with a white label automated small/medium business underwriting and portfolio management platform. 

    Monique holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and an MBA from Simon Fraser University.
